The packaging industry had been waiting for this for a long time – the interest and the rush of participants were correspondingly great: 788 exhibitors from 33 countries and around 24,000 visitors met again in Nuremberg at the end of September 2021 to celebrate the European Trade Fair for Packaging, Technology and Processes. FACHPACK once again proved to be a "real working exhibition" where unique solutions are presented to and discussed with a broad professional audience.
SMB International's trade fair presentation focused on palletising technology. The company presented a special highlight for optimally aligned, space-saving and dimensionally stable loading: The new SHARK layer palletiser was used directly on site at the trade fair stand and demonstrated its capabilities. In addition to its small footprint, it scores with an innovative turning unit that no other supplier can offer: The integrated turning station (conveyor, turning and shifting unit) – a ball turntable – turns and shifts products almost without contact and is thus maximally gentle on the product. "Space saving and product protection are two central advantages of our new layer palletiser", explains Dipl.-Ing. Hans-Jörg Steffens, Sales Manager of SMB International. "The great interest shown by FACHPACK visitors has once again made us aware of the importance of smooth internal processes. We are pleased to be able to offer exactly the right system for this at the right time with SHARK."
SHARK is modularly expandable and can therefore also be used flexibly in the event of any conversions. Moreover, the palletiser is always delivered in two parts and completely pre-installed. It is suitable for all types of cartons, trays and shrink packs. The exact palletising instructions for the respective pack formats are calculated in real time, and the possible set patterns are automatically suggested to the system operator – this ensures the greatest possible use of storage space on the target pallet. A special, easy-to-use software controls the entire process. Thanks to the internal interfaces and the installed Profi-Net for remote maintenance, the entire system is effectively fully Industry 4.0-capable.
